Kenya and its wildlife

I had heard stories about Kenya from my parents who had visited a few times. Their stories of its gorgeous beaches, fascinating tribespeople, and of animals that I had only ever seen in books, had Kenya firmly on my list of places to visit.

It was a short trip through Nairobi, and a staging post for a longer safari journey through Tanzania. But it was enough to whet my appetite and want more. I made the most of a couple of days in Nairobi, visiting the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage, giraffe centre and Karen Blixen Museum (in case you haven’t heard of her, she wrote Out of Africa). If you do nothing else in Kenya, these three should definitely be on your list!
